When I started my blog, about 4 months ago, I was very unsure about how and in which direction I wanted it to go. I felt very shy to use my real name, and didn't really want people who know me in real life to associate the blog with me. I guess I felt that, as I would be writing personal posts with my real thoughts and feelings, having my own friends and contacts reading it was a little daunting and embarrassing. Hence I decided to call the blog after my dog, Sasha, and Sasha's Nook Blog was born.
I have recently been getting more and more involved in my blog, and in the whole blogging community. I love to meet and chat with fellow bloggers, and every day I am becoming more comfortable with putting more of 'me' on my blog and putting myself really out there in connection to it.
Certain things started to become a little confusing; for example, that people began to think that my name was Sasha, and whenever I wanted to leave a comment on someone else's blog, it commented as my real name, Freya, and so people didn't know that I was behind Sasha's Nook Blog. In general, the whole name situation has become very confusing and unclear!
I have finally decided, therefore, that I want my blog to be truly me, and representative of me, to whoever reads it, and so I have renamed it Freya's Nook. I am excited that I am now comfortable enough to be able to do this, and put my whole self into it, without any barrier in front of my name. I am not hiding behind a screen anymore and I am loving this freedom. I am a big believer in self-expression, and there really isn't anything to be embarrassed or shy about in having a blog - I am proud of it and proud of my name!
I am also looking forward to connecting my other social media with my blog; my twitter, my facebook, instagram and snapchat - all under one name, Freya, my own.
So here is to the new chapter in Freya's Nook!
