A Taste of Fenella Smith

A few months ago, before I started properly blogging actually, I was browsing the shops - particularly in the stationary sections (a true weakness of mine).  I spotted a really cute notebook that had dogs on it - so of course I was drawn to it, plus the fact that it said a portion of the sale would go to supporting Dogs Trust - and decided that it would be my new blogging notebook.  The notebook came from a brand that I had previously not heard of - Fenella Smith.

Well, I absolutely fell in love with this notebook.  The paper is such a beautiful quality, quite thick, and it is perfect for jotting down ideas and scribbling in.  I use it to brainstorm blog ideas and make lists; the notebook is always in my bag and comes everywhere with me!  So, when the team at Fenella Smith got in touch and sent me a couple of products from their collection, I was overjoyed! I have been really excited to write this blog post and share these beautiful products with you, and hope that they might give you some home interior inspiration for the new Autumn season!

The first item that I want to mention is this beautiful little jug with a Dachshund painted on it. Something that I really love about Fenella Smith is that, while all of her products are very beautiful, they all have such a quirky and unique character.  This jug can't help but put a smile on your face!  I think it would look so elegant on a dining table with a Sunday brunch, or even sitting on a windowsill with some cute flowers in it.

Ceramics is clearly a large part of the Fenella Smith collection.  She has written about how she felt very inspired by her grandmother's collection of ceramics, and I think this personality really shows in her products.  This autumn, she is releasing a new bakeware range, all with the same cute characters, including nesting and mixing bowls and baking dishes.  She is also introducing a range of scented candles and I am personally very excited for the ceramic baubles with painted dogs on them, which will be part of the Christmas collection for Fortnum & Mason!

Another design from Fenella Smith that I love is the 'Flamingo & Pineapple'.  I was kindly sent the notebook from this range, and, again, I absolutely love it!  I am thinking of starting a bullet journal with this one.  There are so many gorgeous products with this design; little plates for jewellery, makeup pouches, mugs and candles.  This range was produced exclusively for John Lewis, so you can check it out there, and it is also available directly from Fenella's website.

I also just wanted to mention Fenella's support of Dogs Trust.  She has just added a new design to her 'Dogs Trust' collection, and if you are a dog person (like me) you will absolutely love them!  I know she has taken a lot of inspiration for these designs from her own dogs, a lovely black Labrador and a Border Collie, who was himself a rescue dog.  Fenella donates 25% of her net sales to Dogs Trust, which is wonderful, and well worth supporting.

There is so much to choose from at Fenella Smith - I really recommend checking out her website and looking at all of her fantastic ranges.  She also has a blog, which includes recipes, cookery tips and general home life posts, so I would recommend having a look at that too.  I am really excited about this brand and what's to come.  Her pieces are beautiful and full of character - they are perfect to bring a little life and joy into any home!
